WHAT WE ARE EXPLORING & PLAYING WITH INSIDE ✨SOULFUL SPIRALS✨

 💖COLOUR & LIGHT with paint & water
I love talking about flow with paints AND with life and creative energy. The principles and change in perspective you will learn can be applied to your spiritual practice & professional work. With clients, with your art & with yourself

💖COMPOSITION
How to think and look at visual art like an artist. The ideas of design & aesthetics can be universal but also, there is intuition training in here too. The ability influence how someone feels by looking at what you have created, is also a way to look at how you influence YOURSELF

💖MARK MAKING & FINDING YOUR VOICE
We can’t cover ALL THE THINGS in just 5 days together but the exercises I just downloaded in my morning shower?! It’s going to give you an ongoing practice to notice your world within & around you.  It is about finding YOUR symbols & deeper meaning. It’s about creating art that holds meaning FOR YOU & telling the story from YOUR soul calling  This is the genesis to building the CONFIDENCE in your art & ripples out to the way you show up for your life.

💖PLAY & PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER WITH PURPOSE
This isn’t about learning a new skill. That will be up to you to put in the time.
✔️There will be tips and tricks Yes!
But also, the setting up of a PRACTICE to find a sense of playfulness in doing something fun with your creative energy.  That in turn serves a higher purpose of learning the art of PRACTICE. In your divine connection, your self-development, your creative journeys & walking through life’s inevitable chaos & change.

💖MINDFULNESS PRACTICE WITH BEAUTIFUL ART
Sometimes, it doesn’t feel “productive” & Resistance keeps getting distracted with fears in times of uncertainty. So this watercolour workshop is a chance to “keep your hands & head busy” while allowing enough focus on colour & composition so you can remove the noise The noise of fear & doubts. The noise of life & other peoples’ needs.  Come back to that center of calm & connection within you, make beautiful art and immerse in creative flow.  Then you can come out the other side feeling more grounded in who you want to be as you move through the world.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS NEW WAY OF SHARING MY ART  More than that, I’m excited to share a practice of feeling more connected & calm especially during times of emotional chaos & uncertainty.   Pandemic or not, life & the world will always have seasons of change and chaos.
How YOU show up is up to you.  Be kind to yourself.
Open yourself up to being brave & seeing a new way of being.
Bring your curious & playful self out - it’s the antidote to fear & doubt.  It helps you find the courage to explore & try again.

Course Curriculum

Some past student's work! From beginners to experienced watercolour artists

 SOULFUL SPIRALS

I love looking at these works from the past SOULFUL SPIRALS students

I love that it’s raw, real & works in progress.
Plus I see more than that!

I see the daring and curiosity to try something new

I see the impatience & practice to embrace imperfection

I see the courage to gift self-care as self-love & soul connection even if it’s just using whatever supplies she could get from her kids’ stash

I see leadership to find a creative way to come back to calm despite the anxiety & chaos of this season in the world (& life)

I see allowing themselves to pause & follow curiosity in exploring new perspectives.

Which led to new ways of seeing themselves I see the gift of inviting more creativity & play into our everyday

I see soul care, spiritual connection through creativity, leadership in self-expression & diving into watercolour wisdom

AND JUST AS IMPORTANTLY I see play & pausing JUST for fun & mindfulness & creative expression

Want to paint with me?
Want to play with paint & practice patience with imperfection?
Want to connect to a meditative practice of weaving your busy with something beautiful?

Painting watercolours saved me

Painting watercolours saved me from being paralysed in fear
By pushing my capacity to handle the frustration that comes from imperfection (recovering perfectionist here!)

Soulful Spirals saved me from shallow creativity

By allowing me to express beyond aesthetics & colour into connection to soul & meaning that was my own.

Painting with watercolours saved me from getting stuck in my comfort zones & the heaviness that comes from mastery of your craft
(It’s important to me to master my art BUT I was also losing my sense of play)

By being a whole different language I had to embrace beginners mind & allow mistakes and ‘failures’ and errors.

It’s how I found my style

Soulful Spirals is an exercise in exploring flow & allowing change.

The colour changes, the pigment flow changes, the way you lay a mark changes.

It’s both a building of your muscle memory & an intentional journey to find new ways forward.

It is an exercise in surrender & mindfulness. To dance with play & purpose. To experiment in learning while still focused on a goal

Maybe all creative practice is this. I only know my own.

I LOVE sharing my process.

The conversations between soul & self. The battle with Resistance & trust in the process. The wisdom within watercolours & the way it can flow like life  The chance to practice stretching those comfort zones in small strokes of colour & water  The practice of sacred space to connect & create with purpose & play.   The space to just explore & experiment and even intentionally ‘make ugly art’ in order to break out of your norms  Does your creative practice do this too? Do you see it now, with renewed gratitude?

Chantelle Taxis Harvey

Absolutely loved it! I'm familiar with watercolour but Brenda has taught me another level which has really helped my painting skills develop. I highly recommend doing her classes even if you're a beginner or experienced. She's very easy to understand and provides great resources.
